Adena Corporation was the Construction Manager on “The Commons” shopping center owned by AIG Baker Martinsburg, LLC. The new shopping center was developed on a 47-acre wooded site. Over 500,000 cy of rock and earth were moved to make this project possible. Adena Corporation was responsible for overseeing all site work activities and the coordination and construction of over 195,000 sf of tenant leased retail buildings along with over 68,000 sf of retail shops. Retail space tenants were TJ Maxx, Staples, PetSmart, Michaels, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Books-A-Million, Best Buy and Bed Bath and Beyond. Numerous tenant interior fit out packages were coordinated and performed by Adena Corporation. The project utilized tilt up walls for the retail tenants and CMU wall construction for the shops with conventional steel framing.
